Pearl was born in Michigan to John Baker and Elizabeth (Brown) Baker on July 18, 1902. She has an older brother, John Baker, Jr. In 1930 she was married to Fred Brown who was 35 years old and employed as a mechanic in the garage for the Mine. Fred served in WWI. They had a daughter, Sandra Baker.

Pearl lived in Ely, Nevada her entire life.
