Personal Biography:
Edgar "Agar" Jarrett was a man dedicated to the service of the railroad and his son Ernest "followed in his father's footprints". Agar and his wife Susanna immigrated to the U. S. from England in 1871. Agar was a railroad property clerk in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Agar and Susanna had 8 children. Their son, Ernest also dedicated his life's career with the railroad. At age 34, in Perry, Indiana, Ernest was a foreman machinist, living with his wife Belle, sons Guy and Graham and mother-in-law Jemina Reeves, a widow.

In 1938, Belle and Ernest celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. After his retirement, they moved to Santa Cruz, California.
