Personal Biography:
Caesar Colaizzi was born to Vince and Antimana Colaizzi in Italy and arrived in New York Harbor on August 15, 1913 aboard the ship "Canada." He had moved to Ely prior to 1917 where he would marry Anne Poce. They would have two sons, Henry and William, and a daughter, Jay. He served in the U.S. Army from May 20, 1918 to August 19, 1919 in the 44th Corps of Engineers, E. 454A, 3D Phase Co "B" working on the railways of Europe. He was part of the Polar Bear Expedition in Russia with the U.S. Army, 168th Co, Transportation Corps. Many other Colaizzis worked for the NNRy.
