Building Description:
The railroad had private cars for use by the company’s executives. When not in use, the cars would be stored in this building. One of these cars, the Ely, can be seen at the Illinois Railroad Museum. The car was built in 1886 and bought used by the Nevada Northern in 1906. It was used as an officer’s car until it was sold in 1947. The railroad had several private cars through its history.
In the 1950s, the wrecking crane and outfit car were stored here. The smokejack placed in the middle of the building allowed the crane to be stored facing either direction.

Originally to house private officer's cars; later storage of the wrecking crane.

Construction Method:
The building measures 18 by 100 feet with a single track down the center. Sitting on concrete piers, the interior is unfinished and has a dirt floor. There are tall side-hinged double doors and no windows.
