Harry Fravel was born to Warren and Amanda Fravel on December 31, 1887. He married Louise (Bergman) Fravel on July 8, 1910 in Carson City, Nevada. Her father was H.W. Bergman who worked for the Virginia and Trukee Railway. Before moving to Ely, Harry was a well known state police officer in Reno and Carson City in 1910 before moving to Ely prior to 1920. Upon their arrival, Louise would become very active with the various women's society groups in town acting as a frequent hostess and became known for her singing abilities. Upon his retirement in the 1950s the couple moved back to Reno.
