Description:

Built as Steptoe Valley Smelting & Mining Co. #3, transferred to NCCCo and renumbered to #309 in 1914. Sold to G. Heimerdinger in 1965 and moved to the Pacific Locomotive Association, Richmond, California in 1968. Heavily altered to look more like a traditional steam locomotive and used at the Niles Canyon Railway, dismantled for a rebuild in April 2001, returned to Ely in pieces and currently sits at the NNRy Museum awaiting restoration.
